Mykonos is definitely one of the most beautiful (and popular!) islands I’ve ever been. Full of white & blue, beautiful bougainvilleas, friendly people, spectacular beaches and many more. It is that picturesque island you see on postcards with pretty alleys and adorable cats. Mykonos attracts many kinds of people from all over the world. On the one hand, those ones who are looking for a place with rich history and natural heritage and on the other hand, those ones who are seeking for non-stop party vacation. And of course, as everyone knows, this island has some of the most emblematic hotels in Europe. We are so grateful for staying at one of them, which couldn’t be other than Mykonos Riviera Hotel.
Location
Mykonos Riviera Hotel is located in Tourlos area, which is right above the port of Mykonos and it’s only 5 minutes drive from Mykonos Town. This is actually perfect because you don’t want to be far from the town at night, as the drivers in Mykonos are not so careful, but at the same time you don’t want to stay in the center of Mykonos Town because it’s very noisy at night.
Panoramic Retreat Room
Our room was the definition of luxury! It was a combination of minimal, modern and Cycladic design which was so beautiful. The ceiling was covered with white ropes and they made me feel like I’m on a boat. The main colors of the room were white and blue (my favorite colors!) and the diffuse light created a relaxed atmosphere. Moreover, for music lovers, there was a Marshall speaker which I loved so much! What’s better than listening to chill music while enjoying a glass of wine and watching the sunset? However, the highlight of this room was the ensuite bathroom which was integrated into the bedroom. The bathtub was next to the bed so you could relax there and admire the sea view. Last but not least, our room had a lovely balcony with both Mykonos port and town views.
Culinary experience
Don’t know what to say first for this. I wish my belly could explain to you how satisfied it was during my stay at Mykonos Riviera. Probably I gained 2-3 kilos there hehe. In the morning there was a huge lavish breakfast buffet with plenty of pastries, sweets and fruits. Although everything was so delicious, the one thing I will never forget is the sweet omelette! It sounds weird, I know, but it had a wonderful and unique taste. At night, you can enjoy a wonderful dinner overlooking the beautiful sunset and the sparkling pool.
Thank you so much Mykonos Riviera Hotel for your hospitality, we are looking forward seeing you again soon! I am sending all my love to the kindest staff ever xx

Excellent review and blog Kate .me being a late starter to the world of travel only starting at age 60 my time is running out for visiting all these beautiful places you describe .now at 69 i have visited quite a few places but Greece is my favourite. I believe from others that Mykonos is difficult to fly to via package holidays but one day soon might try .
